Your Home Away From Home

Our Annapolis facility boasts approximately 28,000 sq. ft. of space designed with minimal impact to our natural environment, and to ensure that our clients and patients receive superior service and care from our multiple ER doctors on staff.

Our state-of-the-art facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and advanced equipment allow our doctors to perform delicate, complex procedures that would only normally be performed at university veterinary hospitals. The facility includes nineteen (19) examination rooms, a comfortable waiting room, seven advanced operating suites, and several specialty treatment suites.

We are equipped to offer treatment using the latest innovations in veterinary medicine. We offer digital radiography (x-ray) and ultrasonography (ultrasound) services, a dedicated ICU ward for patients in critical condition, and an in-house laboratory which allows us to conduct many tests right in our facility while you wait. Our large, fenced walking area ensures your pet's safety during his or her stay, while our front garden provides a space for clients to relax.

For disorders that require the expertise of board-certified veterinary specialists:

We can refer your pet to in-house specialists for the following specialty disciplines: surgery, canine rehabilitation, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and neurology.  The in-house specialists are fully equipped in their dedicated spaces with their disciplines' latest techniques and medical equipment.

If you have questions about the other types of services we provide, please contact one of our Client Service Team Member at 410-224-0331.

Veterinary Specialists

Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Clinic may choose to refer you to a specialist to ensure your pet receives the best possible care. We are a part of the Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center, which a coalition of veterinary specialists in the disciplines of emergency medicine, surgery, canine rehabilitation, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, eye care, neurology, radiation oncology, and veterinary radiology. This means that when your pet needs specialty care we already have a network of specialists to send them to and they are located in the same building we are.

While both transfers to and consultations with specialists are quite routine during the week, access to specialists cannot be guaranteed.  This is because our specialists conduct their business during normal business hours on weekdays, and each specialist veterinarian has already committed to pre-scheduled appointments with other clients.  Specialist consultations are performed between and after their regularly-scheduled appointments.

Specialists are only summoned to AAVEC after hours, at the discretion of the attending emergency veterinarian, and only in extreme life-threatening situations.  After-hours specialist consultations cannot be guaranteed.  To learn more about each veterinary specialist group and the outstanding services they provide, please take a moment to click through the links below:
