Founded in 1991, AAVEC employs more than twenty experienced emergency veterinarians and a highly-qualified, trained technical staff to meet the medical needs of patients from Anne Arundel County and beyond. AAVEC provides comprehensive emergency veterinary services and round-the-clock nursing care for hospitalized patients.
State-of-the-Art Facility
In 2018, AAVEC moved into a newly constructed 28,000 square foot facility that allows us to care for more patients while collaborating with and supporting the specialty practices in our building. AAVEC is the premier 24-hour emergency hospital in the Annapolis area and is highly respected by local and regional primary care veterinarians.

24/7 Emergency
Our 24/7 emergency hospital is located within Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center, a group of specialty practices that share space in our facility. These practices include board-certified veterinary specialists who are renowned in the industry for surgery, internal medicine, oncology, advanced diagnostic imaging, cardiology, radiation oncology, radiology, neurology, and ophthalmology. Access to board-certified specialists is an incredible resource for our clients and patients, as it ensures that your patients always receive best in class veterinary care. Collaboration between the emergency department and various specialty practices is a common occurrence that provides an entire spectrum of specialty care within one hospital.
